There will always be differing perspectives in a world where human beings are in charge, but there is NEVER a valid argument for MISTREATING other human beings, disagreement or not. I have seen FAR TOO MUCH of this MEAN-SPIRITED and PREJUDICE behavior. 💔
We need to find a way to return DECENCY to our cultural and societal conversations.

In the last two elections, the liberals did not win a majority. In fact, the conservative party got more votes. However, in a parliamentary system, the government is formed by a coalition when nobody gets an outright majority. Therefore, the far left NDP joins forces with the liberals, and they form the government, locking the conservative party out. That’s unlikely to happen in the next election, thank God.
You will never achieve the very correct and right goals, you've laid out for your country, until you (in the general sense) get a majority of the populous to agree and move together in that direction. Without that, nothing will change.
We have seen in the west, that shouting at the government from the sidelines or even the streets, does nothing - until the numbers tip a certain point, and the elected officials see a consequence hanging in the balance.
It took 4 years of destruction in the states and around the world, for conservative Americans to move together, in enough numbers to gain the chance to temporarily right the ship. What you're now seeing now, is the deep state clutching pearls and running, over the potential consequences they face - that they never thought they'd have to. The will to see them drug from office and locked up is there, but only possible because the people came together and demanded it. And just the threat of that, has them scattering and changing course.
Without the numbers and solidarity, the people will never take their governments back. Without the threat of consequence, their governments will always turn tyrannical and corrupt.
The key to the issue you highlighted and all others, is large numbers of engaged, committed and persistent citizens. This has always been where the power lies, but the people traded that power away to the regimes, over decades for just 3 things - Comfort Convenience and Entertainment.
Until you undo that trade, you will never take your governments, cultures and countries back.
